Agreement to these terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of HRTea, operated by HRTea ("we," "us," or "our"), accessible at HRTea.ai. By accessing or using HRTea, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

Eligibility — You must be 18 or older

HRTea is intended for adults aged 18 and older. By using this service, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years of age. HRTea is not directed to minors, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we learn that someone under 18 has used the service, we will take steps to remove their information.

What HRTea is

HRTea is an AI-powered research retrieval tool that helps you find and explore information from peer-reviewed research and credentialed health professionals on topics related to menopause and women's health.

When you submit a query, HRTea uses artificial intelligence — including embedding models and large language models operated by third-party providers — to retrieve relevant passages from its curated source library and synthesize a response. The response includes citations to the underlying sources.

HRTea is not a doctor, not a medical service, and not a substitute for professional care. The sources in its library reflect the state of research at the time of indexing and may not represent the most current medical consensus.

No medical advice

Always seek the advice of your physician or another qualified healthcare provider with any questions about a medical condition or treatment. Never disregard professional medical advice or delay seeking it because of something retrieved through this tool.

If you believe you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 or your local emergency number immediately.

No doctor-patient relationship

Your use of HRTea does not create a doctor-patient relationship between you and HRTea or any of the authors, researchers, or clinicians whose work appears in the library. HRTea is not a licensed medical provider and does not employ licensed medical professionals to provide advice to users.

AI-powered features

HRTea uses artificial intelligence to retrieve and synthesize health research. AI-generated responses may be incomplete, inaccurate, or inapplicable to your specific situation. AI does not replace the clinical judgment of a licensed healthcare provider. Every response from HRTea includes citations — please read the underlying sources and discuss them with your healthcare provider.

The AI models used by HRTea are operated by third-party providers (currently OpenAI and Google). Your queries are processed by these providers as part of answering your question. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Source accuracy

HRTea is sourced from peer-reviewed research and credentialed health professionals. However, medical knowledge evolves and individual sources may be superseded, contested, or inapplicable to your situation. We make no representations about the completeness, accuracy, currency, or suitability of any information retrieved. Always verify information with a qualified healthcare provider before acting on it.

No endorsement

HRTea does not endorse, recommend, or promote any treatment, therapy, supplement, medication, or product referenced in the sources it retrieves. Any reference to a specific treatment or product is drawn from the cited source and does not constitute a recommendation by HRTea.

Acceptable use

You agree to use HRTea only for lawful, personal, non-commercial research purposes. You agree not to: (a) use the service to collect or scrape data at scale; (b) attempt to reverse-engineer, circumvent, or interfere with the service; (c) submit content that is illegal, harmful, or abusive; or (d) use the service in any way that violates applicable law.

Intellectual property

The HRTea interface, curation, and AI retrieval system are owned by HRTea. Source passages retrieved by HRTea remain the intellectual property of their respective authors and publishers. HRTea retrieves and cites these sources for research purposes; it does not claim ownership over third-party content.

Nothing in these Terms grants you any license to copy, reproduce, or distribute HRTea's proprietary interface or retrieval system.

Disclaimer of warranties

HRTEA IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS. WE DO NOT WARRANT THE ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, OR TIMELINESS OF ANY INFORMATION RETRIEVED.

Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, HRTEA AND ITS OPERATORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO DAMAGES FOR PERSONAL INJURY, HEALTH OUTCOMES, LOSS OF DATA, OR LOSS OF PROFITS, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR RELIANCE ON THE SERVICE, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS EXCEED ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100). SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW EXCLUSION OF CERTAIN WARRANTIES OR LIMITATION OF LIABILITY, SO SOME OF THE ABOVE MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless HRTea and its operators from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of another person or entity.

Privacy

Our collection and use of information is described in our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of HRTea after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of HRTea shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Alameda County, California, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.
